Accessibility statement

Fluenra wants every learner to be able to use our school, including people who are deaf or hard of hearing, blind or have low vision, or have motor or learning disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.

What we do

  • Everything spoken is also written. The AI teacher's answers always appear as text, so you can learn with the sound off. Every voice task can also be done by typing.
  • Captions on read-aloud audio. When the app reads a sentence aloud, the same sentence is shown on screen.
  • The site works with a keyboard and with screen readers, and supports zoom up to 200%.
  • Light and dark themes follow your device settings.
  • Right-to-left languages (Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew, Urdu) are shown correctly.
  • Explanations can be shown in your own language.
  • Deaf / hard of hearing mode (in Settings): big live captions with the current word highlighted, listening transcripts shown right away, and typing instead of speaking.
  • Sign language with real people. In Live classes you can book teachers who teach in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • The animated AI teacher can be turned off in Settings, and it stops moving when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • We don't use "accessibility overlay" widgets; we fix the site itself and test it with automatic tools.

Known limits

  • Speaking exercises use your browser's speech recognition. It works best in Chrome and Edge. If it doesn't work for you, type your answer instead.
  • Our AI teacher does not use sign language. Today's AI sign-language tools are not reliable enough for teaching, so we offer human ASL teachers instead of an AI signer.
